From Self-Acceptance to Self-Improvement: Nurturing Health Esteem

We can’t be the world’s best parents or role models without taking care of ourselves first. It’s essential to make ourselves the best versions we can be. That’s why I invite you to join the Challenge Group at Together, we’ll engage in virtual workouts, motivate each other, and achieve our health and wellness goals. It’s not just for ourselves but also for our families.

In the past, the health and fitness industry bombarded us with impossible standards set by bodybuilders, actors, and models. Comparing ourselves to them only left us feeling inadequate. It’s time to break free from that mindset.
Instead, let’s embrace a balance between self-acceptance and self-improvement called Health Esteem. We can be happy with where we are while still striving for growth. Remember, you don’t have to look like Arnold Schwarzenegger or Sylvester Stallone. Focus on becoming the best version of yourself, step by step.

Health esteem encompasses not only physical health but also mental and emotional well-being. It’s about managing your time and stress effectively, nourishing your body with whole foods, and avoiding emotional attachments to food. Breaking free from negative patterns and embracing a positive self-image is crucial for your overall well-being.

To cultivate health esteem, start by making small changes in your daily routine. Wake up without hitting the snooze button multiple times. Trust me, it’ll improve your mood throughout the day. And remember, tackle the hardest tasks first. As Mark Twain once said, “If your job is to eat a frog, it’s best to do that first thing in the morning.”

Let go of energy drinks and sodas that do more harm than good. Plan your lunch in advance to alleviate unnecessary stress. Focus on giving positive energy to others. Compliment people and lift them up when they need it. What you give out will come back to you.
Lastly, prioritize quality sleep by avoiding screens at least 30 minutes before bed. The psychological impact of news and the blue light emitted by screens disrupt our sleep patterns. Take this time to engage in activities that nourish your brain, like reading a book or a magazine.

Health esteem is about finding a balance between self-acceptance and self-improvement. Embrace who you are while striving to become the best version of yourself physically and mentally. Take care of your overall well-being, manage stress, nourish your body with wholesome food, and give positive energy to others.
